| | Posted : 24 Jul 2024 - 01:55 Post title : Cut vinyl logos, thanks to Birdy68 | | | Decided my side covers needed a logo.... had some suitable graphics but thought I'd search the internet for better quality files. Hit the bonanza when my Google search led to none other than our very own Birdy68 right here on this site. He posted some scalable PDF files that are perfect - best ones I could find anywhere.
First ones I cut had the entire T-Bird logo in white vinyl:
Then (naturally) I decided they should be chrome. Got some razor-thin material and ended up with these:
Both are about 6-inches wide and beefed-up a bit as original logo is a bit delicate for this application. Might do it again in chrome with entire logo, but will see how these hold up in the meantime. Chrome material is thin enough to avoid trapping wax around edges, tho you can see a tiny bit. Thank you, Birdy!

I did a search for 'Triumph Thunderbird 1600 logo' and found Birdy's post here in top results. Search engine results are often faster than a site search, surprising how often tb1600 comes up in results. It's as if this site is the primary authority on all things Thunderbird. ;-)
No idea where Birdy is or what he's up to these days, can only wish him well. I think he was an admin here, might have been responsible for our member map, among other contributions.

They're in the 80s and 90s right now. We're getting some relief this weekend finally but where i am at least it's been n the 105-115 range for long as i can recall.

Our summer lasts from December to the end of April although last year it started early November.

Exactly here in Florida, However aside from riding we are well adapted to high temps. In areas that do not consistently see high temps are not well adapted and can be unbearable for every day life.

This mylar film is super-thin, side cover was waxed but little or none collected around edges. We'll see how adhesive holds up. Might eventually replace it with the full logo in white (1st pic), but for now I have a bet going with a friend in the sign biz.
