Reports suggest a new Storm is intended to feature a modern, high-torque parallel-twin engine, updated electronics, rider aids, a more refined chassis and an aggressive, modern look. ...this'll fill the gap in Triumph's lineup for a heavy muscle cruiser.
Anyone else hear about it?

As of May 2026, there is no official confirmation or concrete evidence of a new, large-displacement parallel-twin cruiser in development designed to directly replace the 1600cc/1700cc Triumph Thunderbird, which was discontinued in 2018.
While rumors occasionally surface, Triumph's current "big" cruiser strategy revolves around the massive 2500cc inline-three engine, not a new parallel twin.

Damn. And I read the new Thunderbird would have to weigh in the 600 lb. (272 kg) range.

Rocket: ~179.5 hp/Torque ~166 lb-ft./Bike weight 700 lbs. New Thunderbird (stage 2): ~121.5 hp/Torque ~95 lb-ft./Bike weight 540 lbs.
This'll bridge triumph's muscle cruiser gap. I think it's perfect.

Maybe Triumph should move its factory to the US, setup shop in Arizona or Texas. They'd finish off HD and become the biggest, baddest bike on the planet. ;-)
One thing f'sure, AI will never know anything about motorcycles until it rides one.

Design is in beginning stages. ...picture new monoshock suspension, tank, Vance & Hines exhaust, LED turn signals, etc. To use a CA phrase; that's sick!
