Just remember that I wanted to ask about the lights. The other day I switched the ignition on and then proceeded to fiddle about with making sure my newly purchased socket set was properly secured to the rack. Took possibly 10 minutes of messing to get it right and make me feel confident that it wouldn't shift. Anyway all of a sudden I was aware that the rear light was flashing in some form of pattern .... is that normal? I guess it is but why .. I've never seen that before on any other bike.

If you have not started the engine and left the ignition on for 10 minutes. It would appear to be some form of warning to let you know that the ignition has been left on.
Just a suggestion.
Cheers.

Now this isn't directly connected but it may indicate poor battery condition. I installed my new battery today ... it registered 13.1volts. Bike fired first touch then I let it idle for about two minutes. I noticed that the centre of the rear light LED cluster was flashing. When the motor was revved the flashing ceased and the light produced a constant output. It might be a rogue unit that I have but it certainly does some funny sh#t.
